Vasyl Symonenko (1935–1963) is a poetic legend of the "sixties" as a social and artistic movement. His poems were not allowed to be printed by Soviet censorship, so they were distributed in self-published lists and copied by hand - by teachers, professors and farmers. The poet's lines spoke with Shevchenko force:
"There is my people! My people will always be there! No one will cross out my people!..”
After all, the poet also predicted our days:
"Ukraine, you are my prayer, You are my age-old desolation... A fierce battle is thundering over the world for your life, your rights."
